How to create AI images for free? We’ll show you how

The article below is a supplement to the video you can find on the Beyond AI channel. If you've ever had to do something “yesterday” and wondered if AI could save you from trouble, this text and video are for you. Check out the channel to learn more interesting facts about artificial intelligence. It's really worth it!

Imagine you're relaxing with a cup of coffee when suddenly your boss walks in and says, “Hey, make me a presentation on the differences between Millennials and Gen Zers in the job market. You have... 40 minutes!” Let's say your first reaction is, “Is he out of his mind?” And your second: “How am I supposed to do that?” Fortunately, it's 2024, and artificial intelligence can be your best friend in situations like this.
So... let's turn on the AI and see if we can save the day!
The task seems simple: make a presentation in 40 minutes, but when you start looking for tools to help you do that, things suddenly get heated. After a short conversation with Chat GPT, you get a list of tools. The problem is that most of them want more information from you than your bank does for a mortgage.
First up is Tome App. It's a cool tool, but before you can do anything, you have to enter all your details – from your shoe size to your hat size. Halfway through filling out the form, you've had enough and think, “Okay, this isn't it.”
Next choice – Beautiful AI. Sounds promising, right? The problem is that it's definitely “beautiful,” but not necessarily “free.” As always, the free version is about as useful as free samples at a perfume store—it smells great, but it lasts five minutes.
But we're not giving up! We move on to Google Slides and Canva. Google Slides? Well, it's not really suitable for saving your career at such a dramatic moment. Canva? Okay, it has potential, but its AI that “does everything for you” is still more of a fairy tale than reality. But hey, let's at least give it a try.

The first one I managed to make was created in the Presentation app and looks quite promising: https://app.presentations.ai/view/AOD3uD - of course, I left all the mistakes made by the AI in it.
Chat GPT is a tool that can do a lot for you, but it needs context. The more you tell it, the better the answer you'll get. So you throw it a line: “Listen, I have 40 minutes to make a presentation about Gen Z and millennials. I need something that will do it all for me. No paid tools, no credit cards!”
Fortunately, Chat GPT is always on the ball and comes up with a few suggestions. We take a look at Slides AI – the promises are beautiful, but after a few minutes of playing around, it turns out that it's only partially free, and you still have to come up with the content yourself. Another miss, but we're getting closer to our goal.

Simplified was close, but in English and not very nice!
Finally, you come across Gamma. At first glance, everything looks pretty good—you can upload your text, add photos, and, surprisingly, it even works! The problem? The AI uploads stock photos that you probably don't have the rights to. And you don't want a presentation that will get you a visit from a lawyer, do you? No worries, just move one slider while creating your query and you'll get photos that you can use without any worries.

Let's say your AI has already spit out something that resembles a presentation. First impression? Pretty good. But before you feel like a PowerPoint master, keep a few details in mind. Check that all the data is accurate—AI tends to make up things that “sound good.”
You also need to pay attention to formatting. In Gamma, for example, slides can have different heights, which can look like someone designed them after a few hours of sleep. And that may not be the impression you want to make on your boss.
There's no denying that artificial intelligence is a wonderful tool that can save your skin in difficult moments. In just 20 minutes, you can create a presentation that would normally take you several hours (and, incidentally, cost you your nerves and mental health).
The problem is that AI isn't everything. Even if you have a tool that will make slides and add graphics for you, you still need a little common sense and a moment to verify that everything is correct. Because ultimately, you will be the one signing off on this presentation, not artificial intelligence.
Yes! AI can generate both content and graphics, but remember—always check that everything is in place and that the data is accurate.
Gamma and Presentations are solid tools if you need a quick solution. Canva? Well, it's so-so, don't be fooled.
In most cases, free versions are limited, and full functionality often requires a subscription. Still, even free options can save you in a crisis.
