Polish technology company ElevenLabs, which has achieved “unicorn” status, has announced an investment of $11 million in the Polish artificial intelligence ecosystem. The aim of this initiative is to support innovation in Poland, particularly in the area of voice generation and processing technologies.

ElevenLabs develops modern AI-based tools, such as an advanced synthetic voice generation system. Users can define parameters such as age, tone, and emotion of the voice, and the generated effects are almost indistinguishable from the human voice. What's more, these tools support various languages, including Polish and English. Recently, the company has also introduced support for dubbing and filmmakers, enabling easy creation of voiceovers.
Artificial intelligence giants such as OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic are facing challenges in further developing their latest models. Information disclosed by journalists indicates that these companies are facing diminishing returns on their investment.
Examples:
Experts suggest that current transformer-based technologies may be reaching their limits, which will require a new approach to building AI models.
Researchers at MIT have published a study entitled “The surprising effectiveness of test-time training for abstract reasoning.” The study used a technique that allows models to learn in real time during testing. Small models achieved results in tests similar to those of humans, indicating the possibility of improving the abstract reasoning abilities of AI models without huge investments in their size.

Anthropic and OpenAI are developing applications that support the automation of user actions on computers. OpenAI has integrated ChatGPT with macOS, enabling access to information displayed in tools such as Xcode and Visual Studio. Although the application currently operates in “read-only” mode, this is a step towards full automation of computer work.

Waymo, a company developing autonomous vehicles, has launched its service in Los Angeles. It covers an area of 130 km² and is available to all users, following previous tests in Phoenix and San Francisco. To date, Waymo's autonomous taxis have traveled over 20 million miles and served 2 million passengers.

Waymo's development stands out from the competition, especially Cruise, which lost its license for autonomous vehicles after a traffic incident. Waymo, on the other hand, has an exceptionally low number of cases requiring human intervention, which increases confidence in this technology.

The main challenges are diminishing returns on investment and difficulties in overcoming the current limitations of transformer technology.
Waymo has a very low number of human interventions, making their technology one of the most reliable.
Applications such as ChatGPT for macOS integrate with the user's software, enabling data reading and facilitating task completion.
